2d. dull blue on blued paper, unused with part original gum, large to extremely large margins showing small piece of adjoining stamp at left and burr-rubbing at
lower right corner, luxuriously rich color and sharp impression. One of the finest examples of this very rare stamp that are available, and considered by some to be rarer in fine condition than either the 1d. or 1/- values. R.P.S.N.Z. (1972) and
Holcombe (1991) Certificates, the latter stating "a little soiled in places" which we consider to be of little consequence for a stamp of this magnitude. Sc. 2; S.G. 2, £35,000. provenance:

plate causing shadows to the letters of " new zealand" , exceptional deep rich color and clarity of impression and with clear to large margins nearly all round, each pair neatly cancelled "1" at
