526 ogO S.G. #143/625, E1/F205, Representative mint and used colleciton from 1873-1940 on Scott pages, the postage issues have very few empty spaces, the early issues being mixed mint and used, while the 20th century is nearly all mint, there is strong value in back-of-the-book issues, particularly the postal-fiscals, which includes better mint from the 1931-40 Issues, also comprehensive showings of postage dues, officials and life insurance stamps, there are also some better varieties sprinkled throughout, plus there is a good showing of revenue "Stamp Duty" stamps, the mint is nearly all o.g., some small faults but most are fine-very fine. 529 og imageS.G. #7a var., 1893 1/2p on half of 1p Violet, Ty. 2 surcharge in red, unsevered pair, variety with a score between the two halves, attractive mint example with strong violet color, o.g., relatively lightly hinged, very fine; this variety shows the technique of the Old Calabar Post Office for efficient separation of the halves, a diagonal cut along the line between the halves was made leaving the two corners attached, these could then be easily separate in daily post office operation, severed halves show evidence of this and pairs still intact are undoubtedly scarcer than the unscored pair; 1991BPA certificate (Scott #7c; $450.00+).
