684 og imageS.G. #67, 70, 1897 "2 1/2d surcharge Types 8, 11 on 2/- Dull lilac, se-tenant pair, a magnificent left sheet-margin pair of these surcharges on the rare 2/- value, found in a condition that is virtually unheard of for these issues, possessing flawless centering, and exceedingly fresh with unfaded strong color, full original gum that is lightly hinged; extremely fine in all respects; this is truly a remarkable pair when one considers that all the types of the surcharged Two Shilling total only 240 stamps, the right stamp in this pair, being Type 11, had a total issuance of only 32 stamps and in a se-tenant pair may very well be unique; 1993 BPA certificate (Scott #60, 62; $9,850.00+). 689 ogO S.G. #1/202, Extensive largely mint collection consisting of over 200 mostly different on Scott pages, all areas are well represented starting with a nice selection of 19th century, this is where the majority of the small number of used will be found, includes watermark and shade varieties, plus a group of the "2 1/2d" surcharges on revenues, starting with the 1896-97 Queen Victoria definitives there is a lovely array of the of the mint definitive issues complete through the George VI issues including the 1933 Centenary of Abolition, lacking only the £2 and £5 George V values, includes shades and die types, etc., o.g. or used, a few faults are found in the 19th century as would be expected, but the vast majority is clean and fine-very fine, examine; Stanley Gibbons catalog value over £6,500 (Scott #1/187).
