D13, 1926-30 25c Black on magenta, a used single of his very rare value, from the bottom right corner of the sheet with sheet s.e. on those sides and rouletted 10 on the other sides, portion of November 1929 Zanzibar c.d.s., brownish gum from post office glue pot remains on the reverse as these stamps were issued without gum, very fine; an extremely rare stamp mint or used and, despite the difference in catalog values, it is probably rarer used; 1994 BPA certificate (Scott #J8B; not priced used). 833 O imageS.G. #29, 1894 £5 Purple and black on red, attractive used single of this rare high value, well centered and with crisp portion of Eshowe c.d.s. dated "OC 31 95", paper color is bright and fresh, accompanying certificate states "rubbed surface" which means the violet color is slightly rubbed, we feel this is a bit harsh since this is the normal slight rubbing that occurs on almost all of these, particularly when used, still a very fine and highly desirable used copy of this rarity; 1990 BPA certificate (Scott #24; $1,750.00). 834 ogO Australian States valuable collection of many hundreds on Scott pages, not only is there a high degree of completion for the basic Scott numbers, but there are also numerous multiples, shades and varieties to be found throughout, the early 19th century is filled with high cataloging imperforate stamps including some very scarce unused or mint examples and some of the elusive rouletted stamps, the later perforated stamps include several scarce mint or used items, the turn-of-the-century contains many of the pound high values in mint or used fine-very fine condition, plus a good showing of the back-of-the-book issues including 41 of the unlisted South Australia officials, condition on the earliest issues is mixed as always, but the quality improves on the later issues; collections of Australian States are seldom offered in such depth. 835 ogO Australian States perforated officials substantial lot of over 1,000 mostly used items neatly arranged in a stockbook and also a few on album pages, includes both Australian States stamps perforated "OS" as well as Austrialian stamps perforated with the state's initials, in the states issues we note several shilling values, two £2 Blue stamps of Victoria and Western Australia £1, the Australian stamps contain Kangaroos to the 2/-, several King Geoge V heads and later definitve stamps, some duplication, with some items in quantities over ten, but most have five or less, mostly fine or better; an uncommonly large offering that should be of great interest to a specialist in this field.
