a magnificent bottom margin T.S. Harrison two-line imprint block of
four, in the finest condition imaginable, fabulously fresh, rich
luxuriant colors, outstanding centering, o.g., n.h., bottom sheet selvage
with just a few trivial nicks of little importance and mentioned for
accuracy only, extremely fine.Harrison imprint blocks of four are of
extreme rarity, but especially so punctured "OS". Of the six recorded
Harrison imprint blocks, four are mint and unpunctured (one being in the
Royal Collection), and there are two pieces with "OS" punctures, one a
c.t.o. block of eight, and the mint block offered here. The latter two
blocks having been released to the public in the 1986/87 Australia Post

small "OS", Madagascar U.P.U. specimen stamps, the unique set of eight
different then current values in horizontal strips of three on small pieces
cut from the Madagascar ledger book containing specimen stamps from around
the world, each strip having "OS" punctures and with GPO Melbourne c.t.o.
cancels as applied to stamps supplied in collector's sets, "tied" to seven
small pieces of the ledger book by large red circular Madagascar receiving
handstamp, one 6p stamp with facial scuffs, all others fine-very fine; a
spectacular set, perfect for exhibition; as c.t.o. singles alone this lot
has a catalog value in excess of A$14,000.

and blue with "SPECIMEN" type B overprint, and £2 Grey black and
crimson, each having been "cancelled" by a most unusual and rare
"Commonwealth of Australia/Postmaster's General Department" black cachet,
this handstamp was probably used occasionally to cancel stamps retained for
official record purposes, each nicely centered and with rich colors
(central vignette on £2 a bit lightly printed), very fine and choice
"set"; £2 value accompanied by a 2001 Ceremuga certificate; £1
value ex-Chapman, Nelson (for "normal" used A$5,175+). (imagea)

19-20/25-26 in the forme, position 19 being type C1a variant (deformed
"C"), while position 25 being type C1 (deformed "C" and damaged "S"),
others normal, rather well centered, o.g.. top pair minor h.r., bottom pair
n.h., very fine; blocks of this value are very rare, with only one block
of eight and four blocks of four recorded, only the block of eight and
this block of four show both the C1/C1a variants within the same multiple
(for four singles, normal and varieties, A$1,750+).
