1073 ogc imageRose of Washington unused patriotic cover with Rose enclosure, a magnificent handpainted three part design of Charles Magnus, fresh and crisp with bright colors on a nice white envelope, includes the foldout Rose enclosure showing numerous scenes and monuments of Washington, D.C., printed in blue on the outside and in bronze on the inside, with Magnus imprint on the enclosure, extremely fine; there are actually several types of both the cover and the enclosure, this cover is in a different design than the used example and other unused example that are offered here, the printed portions of the three designs have different shading and the three figures are actually different, Washington's face having what looks like scowl on it; an extraordinarily difficult patriotic to find with enclosure in this premium condition; ex-Bleuler. 1077 ogc imagePanorama of Washington unused patriotic cover with large foldout enclosure, a gorgeous handpainted three part design of Charles Magnus on legal size cover, this size is extremely rare and necessary to hold the oversize enclosure which measures nine inches wide and an amazing 29 1/2 inches long, "Panorama of Washington" is somewhat a play on words for Washington, the man, and the city of Washington, D.C., the cover features Washington, the man, while the enclosure has a large portrait of President Washington (after Stewart) at top, then 26 separate illustrations of buildings and monuments in Washington with a final large panoramic view of the Capitol building at bottom, all are hand colored in the style of Charles Magnus, the cover is exceptionally attractive with a minimal amount of aging, most on the reverse, enclosure is obviously folded but has some addition horizontal folds and slight wear as would be expected, overall very fine; an impressive and extremely rare Magnus patriotic production; ex-Bleuler.
