1242 c Spanish American War accumulation of covers and cards relating to this conflict, in quantity there are over 225 unused patriotic covers including some attractive pictorial designs, but also including five used patriotic covers including attractive designs of military leaders, other types of collateral are present including 30 post cards with a patriotic theme or of battleships that served in the war, plus seven stereoscope cards mostly showing troops, condition varies but the vast majority are fine-very fine; ex-Bleuler. 1243 c imageTennessee correspondence of over 20 covers, from various parts of the country to the Bakers and Mitchells in Fisherville and La Grange, Tennessee, in the 1851 to 1867 period, mostly franked with current 3c values including one with three #26 from California, but also includes two Confederate covers with Memphis 5c Red Postmaster Provisional franking (#56X2; both cut to shape and one damaged), plus an 1858 cross-border cover from Montreal, Canada with horizontal pair of 3c Red Beaver (#4; pre-affixing tear in one stamp), condition quite mixed but an interesting lot. 1244 c Valentine mounted collection of over 50 in two large binders, ranges from about 1850 with Philadelphia stampless cover to the very early 20th century, but most being 19th century, over half have original envelopes, usually embossed, and 25 are ones that have been posted including some with interesting usages, we note several with 1851 Issue franking including one with a pair and a single of #9, a selection of the Civil War period with #65 franking including some that are quite large with nice embossed envelopes, even two Confederate States valentines with posted envelopes with pairs of #7, both high quality envelopes with one embossed, unusual for the Confederacy, numerous Bank Note period valentines and envelopes, the valentines are exceptionally interesting with some absolutely gorgeous designs including standup and mechanical, these have been selected for this collection to show the variety and beauty of the valentines of this period, fine-very fine or better; examination is a must to appreciate the scope and value of this collection; ex-Bleuler. 1245 c Valentine extensive accumulation of over 180 showing a wide range of types and designs, about 125 are the type that go into envelopes, includes over 30 with their original envelope including some quite ornate, about half of these have been posted with usages as early as the 1850's including one with #11 and another with #26, one exceptionally large envelope (260x210mm) has very ornate gold printed design on both front and back, posted to Worcester, Mass. with just a straight line "Paid" handstamp, valentines range from relatively small to exceptionally large, many are 19th century period with fancy lace and numerous layers, some are the standup or foldout types, also includes over 60 of the postcard type with some posted, mostly fine-very fine; an excellent accumulation for anyone wanting to start a collection of these beautiful artifacts of love; ex-Bleuler. 1248 c Substantial postal history accumulation of the early stamp period consisting of over 475 covers from the 1851 Imperforate issue through the 1879 Bank Note issue, an extraordinarily interesting accumulation with a number of better frankings found throughout, the 1851 issue consists of 1c and 3c values with a few 3c Orange browns, numerous Civil War issues to the 12c value including a number of nice 10c cross-border covers to Canada, even the common 3c values have many small town cancels from states such as Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia and others, plus some fancy cancels, there are a few Civil War patriotic covers and a small selection with seldom seen patriotic labels, several better high value 1869 pictorials are present including covers to India and Guatemala with 15c Brown and blue (#119), plus a number of nice Bank Note covers with values to the 15c on both domestic and foreign mail covers including a 1873 15c Orange on an 1874 cover to Uruguay, actually there is far too much to be more specific but examination will reveal an interesting array of valuable early covers, condition varies as would be expected but numerous fine-very fine covers will be found throughout; ex-Bleuler. 1254 Oogc Substantial combination stamp and cover collection for the Bureau period of 1895 to about 1926, throughout are found used stamps of the various regular and commemorative issues, lacking a few high values of a generic 1894-98 Bureau issue set and the 1902-03 Regular issue, otherwise quite comprehensive including a mint 2c Lincoln on bluish paper and a never hinged White Plains souvenir sheet, plus three different used White Plains souvenir sheets including one cancelled on October 18, 1926, the first day of issuance, of greater significance than the stamps are over 170 covers and cards showing the usages of the stamps, issues like the 1901 Pan Americans, 1904 Louisiana Purchase and 1907 Jamestown, which are associated with exhibitions, have numerous exhibition covers and cards, plus collateral including tickets and other memorabilia of the fairs, we also note illustrated advertising covers including some in attractive colors, various usages of the stamps such as postings to foreign countries, ones used out of Vera Cruz, Mexico and Parcel Posts, etc., condition overall is quite nice with most being fine-very fine; an eclectic collection of highly interesting material that will be well worth examining to find all of the unusual items too numerous to mention; ex-Bleuler. 1256 cF 537/855 #537/855, Commemorative issue cover and first day cover collection, concluding with a 1938-39 set of Presidentials including coils and booklets panes with each value on square cacheted card with FDC cancel (the only regular issues in the collection), covers start as early as the 1919 Victory commemorative, the earliest first day covers in the 1920's such as Huguenot-Walloon and Lexington-Concord are usually without cachets but there are many early early cachets starting with the 2c Red commemoratives of the late 1920's and early 1930's, we note the 1932 Washington Bicentennials on one cacheted FDC, Century of Progress souvenir sheets, Parks and Farley issue including many position pieces and souvenir sheets, commemoratives end with the 1936-37 Army-Navy and a 1939 Baseball card, a few stamps are included throughout plus attractive post cards that go with the various issues, fine-very fine; ex-Bleuler.
