1263 c imageHistorical quality post card series of the American Historical Art Publishing Co. of New York, two series numbered 1-20 and 21-40, this is the only complete set of all 40 numbered mint cards that we have encountered, the first card in each series has an index of the 20 cards that are in that series, beautifully printed in 1903 in Germany by L. Schwalbach, the views on the front are in gorgeous multicolors and the address side has a patriotic theme with stars and an Eagle and Shield printed in red and blue, all are crisp and very fine; a rare unit that would be hard to duplicate; ex-Bleuler. 1264 c Historical and Patriotic post card collection/accumulation of over 450 cards, the largest portion are mint but includes some posted cards as well, many are the attractive, and often embossed, multicolor cards printed in Germany, includes some in series including 38 out of 40 different of the double series of 20 each produced by the American Historical Art Publishing Co. of New York, plus others, scenes of historical cards show views from the French and Indian War to the Spanish-American War, there are numerous cards of Presidents such as Lincoln, and an extensive section of Theodore Roosevelt, we even note a small handful of beautiful multicolor Arbuckles Coffee trade cards and some cards with the views made out of silk, condition varies but the vast majority are fine-very fine and includes items retailing at $10.00-20.00 or more; ex-Bleuler. 1271 c Picture post card massive accumulation of over 7,000 cards in four boxes, largely from the period of 1900 to the 1930's with many in the vintage post card era, but also includes later with some modern, the majority are unused though there are a fair amount of used throughout, generally of scenery from around the country showing a variety of subjects, very few greeting cards are present, transportation was an interest of this collector and we note airplanes, numerous cars and buses including early actual photographs, railway related cards showing tracks, tunnels and stations, plus bridges and trestles, we also note some military related, some collected by state or city, etc., among the used we note some better frankings and postmarks, condition varies as would be expected in an accumulation of this size, but the majority are fine-very fine; by far the largest accumulation of picture post cards that we have ever offered and well worth examining to appreciate the premium items contained here; shipping weight over 120lbs. 1276 Photograph collection, a large portion is civil war period with over 40 CDV's (Carte-De-Visite), no military and many are not identified but the first issue revenues on the reverse of many date the period, also includes four tintypes, plus a selection of over 40 relatively early photographs of the early 20th century, many of these are scenes in foreign locations such as Egypt, India and Hawaii, finally two 19th century autograph books, these look like college autograph books and many of the autographs are probably just fellow students, but we do note a quote and signature of Josh Billings, Amerian humorist of the time, fine-very fine and interesting collection of period material; ex-Bleuler.
