1860 (2 Mar.) double rate entire from Galle to London and redirected locally, marked "Per Steamer Nubia, Prepaid Telegram" and "via Marseilles", bearing 1/-
slate-violet with good to large margins, neatly tied by oval of bars, showing London Inspector's mark at left and, on reverse, light "galle/steamer letter" c.d.s. in red. The inside of the letter is
headed "Electric Telegraph of Ceylon" then follows a message received from Calcutta to Mrs Rowe, postage prepaid, that Mrs Grant had given birth to a son on the 29th February. It was endorsed as being received in the office on the 29th
