55b |
#55b, 1912 "4 ORE" Surcharge on 8o Slate and carmine,
Frame Inverted, an immensely rare mint example of this inverted frame
variety, of which only one sheet was printed, in addition this example
possesses the "deformed 4" variety which occurred only on position B59
(therefore this can be the only example of the inverted frame with this
plate variety), wonderfully well centered, strong rich colors, o.g., h.r.,
insignificant corner perf. crease, very fine; one of the rarest stamp of
20th century Denmark, with about 20 used examples are known, and there
is at most one other mint example recorded; listed but unpriced in
Scott, however the Facit catalog prices it used only at SK 30,000 and has a
star in the mint column, which means it exists but no price can be given
because of the extreme rarity of a recorded sales price; 1999 Sismondo
certificate (Facit #46v2). (Image) |

35 var |
#35 var., 1919 5M Viking Ship, Center Inverted,
without gum as issued, large margins all around, very fine; Scott has
recently delisted this item, apparently because almost all examples offered
are forgeries made at a later time, but it is now believed that a small
number of the inverted centers were printed contemporaneously with the
issue, in fact Mr. Balner had purchased several examples prior to this one,
only to receive negative expert opinions on all of them; this is one of the
few opportunities to purchase a genuine certified example; 1993 APS
certificate; illustrated in the Sellinger catalog; (Michel
#13xKF). (Image) |
