U1/521, UC1/UO72 |
#U1/521, UC1/UO72, Substantial and comprehensive cut square
collection consisting of a total 641 items collected both mint and
used, the mint is impressive and consists of 480 different Scott numbers
starting with the first Nesbitt issue and going through the 1925 1 1/2c
surcharges, plus airmails and 38 different officials including a rare 2c
Dark red (#UO19; 1mm piece hinged to the bottom to even margins) and
attractive examples of #UO62 and UO69, nearly all the officials are nice
size including a number of full corners, the used consists of 160 virtually
all different, though they frequently duplicate the mint, rarely a second
copy is included to show shades or cancels, while the number of used is
fairly substantial the catalog value only amounts to about 10% of the
total, this is a neatly housed working collection that is arranged on black
stock pages, with slips listing the Scott number, UPSS die number and
catalog values which are four or five years old, the regular issues are
quite extensive, both mint and used, with numerous better items cataloging
$200.00-$300.00 up to $1,000.00 or more, there are far too many to list but
a few highlights include mint full corners of #U134, U200 and U276 plus
others, examination will reveal many other desirable items, condition is
also well above average, sizes do vary and an occasional fault will be
found, but the vast majority are of good size and throughout are found many
with lavish margins and full corners, overall at least fine-very fine with
most very fine or better; an important and valuable collection. |

Whitington mounted collection of mint cut squares, consists of hundreds
of attractive and desirable cut squares housed in two Scott National
albums, starts with five different 3c values of the first issue and goes

hundred dollars catalog value each and has virtually all the lesser values,
virtually complete from the mid-1920's to date including air posts and
later officials, includes some full entires, throughout are desirable items
and the overall condition is outstanding, the vast majority are
collected in full corners and usually of larger than normally seen
sizes, making many items the best quality obtainable, some higher catalog
value items will grade only very fine, but the majority are extremely fine;
a wonderful collection for one wishing to start a quality collection to
