#233a, 4c Blue Columbian, error of color, a
magnificent mint example of this famous rarity, possessing an extraordinary
overall freshness and brilliance few existing copies can boast, with
stunningly rich color and a razor-sharp impression on bright white paper,
marvelously well centered amid margins that are considerably larger than
typically found, full clean o.g., lightly hinged, certainly extremely fine
considering this stamp's exceptional overall attributes. The Four Cent
Columbian color error exists in two different shades, one being far more
deep, having come from at least two different sheets. The example offered
here possesses an especially intense shade. One of the few existing
sound, premium quality original gum examples of the Four Cent Columbian
error of color. Accompanied by 1974 and 1991 PF certificates, as well as a
1973 APS certificate; ex-Floyd.
