#259, 15c Dark blue, a phenomenal mint example,
possessing several desirable physical characteristics that rarely converge
on a single stamp, including being impeccably well centered within
spectacularly large margins, but just as impressive is the stamp's striking
intense color and prooflike impression on brilliantly white paper, the
reverse sports fresh clean o.g. that has never been hinged, an extremely
fine gem in every regard; this is the only never hinged #259 in the PSE
population report to grade 95, with only one grading higher; 1999 and 2004

261A |
#261A, $1.00 Black, Ty. II, an exciting mint
example of this rare and difficult Bureau issue, being in a condition
unlike the vast majority one encounters, fabulously bright and fresh, with
intense prooflike color and impression on wonderfully bright paper,
exceptionally well centered within large margins, and equally impressive is
this stamp's reverse, sporting unblemished o.g. that has never been
hinged, extremely fine; as an indication of this stamp's rarity, this
is only the second premium quality never hinged example of Scott #261A we
have offered in our auctions in over ten years; photocopy of a 1992 PF
certificate for a block of four, this being the bottom right stamp, plus a
2004 PF certificate as a single; ex-Lewis.
