sunk on card measuring 118x153mm, this is the original die for this design
with "C-95/American Bank Note Co. N.Y." imprint below the impression, the
pencil notations are particularly important including "June 14,1883" making
this prior to the 2c Brown of this same design, which was issued on October
1, 1883, theoretically this green die proof could be considered a trial
color because this was not issued in green until 1887, also signed by
Alfred Jones, the vignette engraver and D.S. Donaldson, the letter
engraver, minor edge flaws at the extreme edges affecting no elements of
