#613, 2c Harding, rotary press printing, perf.
11, quite well centered for this, particularly when compared to other
existing examples, wide even margins on three sides, left perforations just
into the frame line, fresh color, light and wavy line cancel, completely
devoid of the faults which affect many of the known copies, very fine for
this. The Two Cent Harding rotary press perforated 11 stamp is one of the
most sought-after rarities in United States philately. Before the recent
discovery of this stamp, there were 40 confirmed singles and two pairs
known - all of which are used. Nearly two-thirds of the existing population
are sound, however a great many of these are found quite poorly centered,
often with the perforations well into the design. A highly desirable
example of this important rarity. Accompanied by a 2006 PF certificate. (Image) |
