 |
33Bb |
#33Bb, 1/- Pale blue green, Die IIB, double
perforations, official substitution of a complete horizontal strip of
six at the top of the left pane, required because of an aberrant strike of
the perforating comb in the top margin that would have extended into the
design of all six original stamps, while the usual small repair tabs are
evident at top and at the bottom of the strip, it remarkably was inserted
with the selvage at both sides still attached resulting in margins of
double thickness, while such major substitutions are occasionally found in
the King George V series, this is an unusually large substitution for a
Kangaroo issue, yellowish o.g., small toned spot on the reverse of one
stamp, fine and striking. (Image) |

positional block (for hinged variety and one normal stamp, plus two n.h.
normal stamps A$420+). (Image) |
