magnificent bottom margin T.S. Harrison two-line imprint block of
four, incredibly fresh and crisp, strong rich colors, rather well
centered, o.g., three stamps n..h., minor h.r. in bottom margin, very fine
and choice.Harrison imprint blocks of four are extremely rare and almost
never offered. According to the ACSC, "there are four blocks (one in the
Royal Collection) and in addition a punctured "OS" block of four (see lot
#705) and a c.t.o. block of eight were released at the Australia Post
archival sales of 1986/87". The imprint block from the Gray Collection
surely ranks among the finest available of the four existing unpunctured
blocks.A stunning imprint block of the greatest rarity and eye appeal

a most extraordinary inter-panneau block of 48 (12 x 4), being the
complete bottom four rows of the sheet (Plate 2), containing both CA
monogram at bottom left and JBC monogram at bottom right, excellent
centering throughout, o.g. which has just slightly aged paper, a great
number of stamps are n.h., although there are numerous sensible hinge
reinforcements at edges, with a number of separated perforations as to be
expected for such a large multiple, overall still very fine; a spectacular
showpiece "OS" multiple that surely must be the largest surviving unit (for
CA and JBC monogram strips of three, plus 42 hinged singles A$13,150+). (Image) |

with position 1R60 being the substituted cliche Die IIA variety,
exceptionally well centered, rich color, o.g., l.h., small thin at extreme
bottom of sheet selvage of little consequence, given the importance of this
remarkable monogram block, very fine; this is the only recorded CA
substituted monogram of any kind, and as such is one of the most important
monogram rarities of the entire Kangaroo series; ex-Kilfoyle,
Williamson and Baillie (where it realized A$29,900, with premium, in
