rows from the top right portion of the sheet, with sheet selvages on three
sides with partial inscriptions and plate number 17 showing, fresh color,
fairly well centered for a multiple of this size, o.g., nearly all stamps
are never hinged, with hinge reinforcements in the selvages, lightly folded
along a couple of horizontal rows of perforations, faint toning mainly
confined to the top row, overall fine and most impressive; quite likely
one of the largest surviving multiples of this issue; cataloged as
eight blocks of four and eight singles by the S.G. Spec. catalogue (Scott
