Canada and B.N.A. is offered in two sessions and has many rarities as well
as extremely fine or superb stamps. The 749 Canada and 51 B.N.A. lots
should have something to appeal to every collecting interest. The British
Commonwealth session has a comprehensive showing of colonies with strength
in the George VI period and includes many scarce varieties. The Worldwide
session is represented by 326 better single lots which feature strength in
classic France, St. Pierre & Miquelon, and an interesting balance of
American, German and other material.
Postal History, Literature and Ephemera (277 lots) has a wide range of lots
from classic rarities, wreck covers, and massive lots with one lot of
covers weighing more than a ton. Remainders, Lots & Collections (446 lots)
offers intact collections, topicals (one of wildlife in 23 volumes with an
outdated catalogue value of over $29,000), and many better remainder lots
of broken down collections from around the world.
The initial opening bids are 40% of the estimate we have provided to the
consignor. This estimate is our best guess of the eventual hammer price if
there is normal competition. The first bid received which is above the
opening will show on-line as selling at the opening. Two or more bids will
show as one increment over the second highest bid. Very low bids (below
the opening) will nevertheless be accepted and if there is no competition
they may prove successful in a handful of cases.
