Renewed disturbances' and endorsed to LONDON per British Packet. The entire was sent via JAMAICA with manuscript 'Fwd'd 22 June 1840' with outstanding KINGSTON cds on reverse (June 27) and LONDON arrival on reverse (Aug 9). On arrival in FALMOUTH a superb strike of the CARTHAGENA Fleuron handstamp in red applied on front and rated 4 s. 1 d. Truly delightful and historic cover. **Cuba**

1032	* CUBA. 1862 (27 Febrero). OCUPACION ESPAÑOLA DE VERACRUZ 1862. VERACRUZ a PUEBLA. Carta franqueada con 8 sellos de 1 real verde de Antillas con matasellos circular en negativo de Veracruz. Al circular por territorio mexicano el franqueo español no fué aceptado por el correo mexicano y tasó la carta con '12' reales. Carta excepcional se trata del franqueo más grande conocido del período de la Ocupación Española y el único conocido circulado en el interior de Mexico. NOTA: Para presionar al Gobierno mexicano y pagara las deudas contraidas con diversos países europeos, España, Francia y Gran Bretaña invadieron Veracruz, la intervención duró solamente tres meses, ya que el Gobierno Mexicano llegó a un acuerdo para pagar las deudas adquiridas. El Ejército Español al mando del General Prim, procedente de Cuba, fué el primero en llegar a principios de Enero de 1862 y se retiró en Marzo. Cert. GRAUS.
