(26a). Position 1L11E, bright color, choice centering clearly showing
the type characteristics, tied by target, "Washington D.C. Jun. 2"
double-circle datestamp on orange cover to Potsdam N.Y., clear strike of
"Due 6" in circle handstamp, with original contents datelined
"Camp in the field at Col Spring Va. June 2nd 1864", slightly
reduced at right and few insignificantly toned perfs, Very Fine and scarce,
the stamp had been demonetized years ago and so was marked due 6c (3c
postage plus 3c penalty), with 1986 P.F. certificate describing it as Scott

ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO ENGLAND. It is likely that high-denomination stamps
