Paid 24c Aug. 31" credit datestamp, red "5 Cents" applied in England, routed "per Europa" from England, Very Fine, an extremely rare example of Adams Melbourne express from Australia, the Adams & Co. Four-line red handstamp (Gutman NY-D) on back of greenish folded cover to London, England, docketing indicates origin at Boston Feb. 28, 1842, black De Forest & Co. New York forwarder's oval over Hale marking, "1842 Ap 1/Liverpool/Ship" and London receiving datestamps on back, ms.
