Balance of the Tolman Mounted Collection of Beer Stamps.
Approximately 500 items in seven volumes covering the issues of 1866 to
1947, includes a vast range of singles with some duplication for
cancellations, marginal plate numbers and other varieties, there are some
lovely multiples (pairs, strips and blocks of four) scattered throughout,
as well as useful collateral and reference material, all stamps are
meticulously identified by Priester and Scott numbers, generally these are
the less expensive varieties but there are many better individual items
with catalogue values from $100.00 to $300.00 with a couple higher-value
items with condition problems such as No. REA13a, in front of Volume I are
two certificates of award for the 1945 APS "STAMPEX" and 1947 "CIPEX"
exhibitions, at which Mr. Tolman's Beer Stamp collection was shown, we
presume that the collection at that time was of major stature and therefore
a considerably large portion of the material offered here has been off the
market for approximately 60 years, an incredible opportunity to own a
fantastic comprehensive foundation collection of these much sought-after
