1857, explaining the need to distribute new package labels to thwart
counterfeiting, the label has John E. Gavit imprint, address leaf to
Philadelphia with 3c Dull Red (11), large margins to slightly in,
tied by "Troy N.Y. Paid Aug. 21, 1857" circular datestamp, folds thru
label, Very Fine, Tolman's notes indicate five or six known (reported in
American Revenuer, Oct. 1998)
