Gonsalves & Co. corner card cover to Funchal, Madeira, large red
"Forwarded by Wm. G. Irwin & Co. Shipping and Commission Merchants,
Honolulu, H.I." oval handstamp (Gregory Rarity 1R) on the front of the
cover, Funchal receiving backstamp, couple minor toned spots, Very Fine, a
beautiful and rare combination of markings, the Irwin handstamp is usually
struck on the back, this is a desirable exception, ex Pietsch (Image) |

cover with tiny scuffed area at bottom left corner and overall toning,

reduced at left, otherwise Fine, the cancel was probably applied to
paquebot mail (loose ship letters) received at San Francisco (Image) |
