from Hilo Postmaster L. Severance to Thomas G. Thrum in Honolulu, dated
Aug. 20, 1895, stating "Enclosed please find impression of the only
cancelling stamp used in the Hilo Post Office since I have had charge viz.
from December 1870. We have done the most of our cancelling with the
