Original gum, bright color, gorgeous centering with unusually wide and
balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE
OF THE 1879 5-CENT BLUE TAYLOR PRINTED BY AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY. THIS
STAMP HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GRADE OF SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE ONLY
EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE THIS LOFTY GRADE, WHICH IS THE HIGHEST AWARDED TO
DATE. With 2007 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98, SMQ $3,700.00). The
highest grade for a Mint N.H. copy is VF-XF 85, and after this Superb 98
there are three XF-Superb 95 OGph stamps.

Mark (188). Original gum, h.r., incredibly well-centered with fabulous
wide margins, deep rich color and clear impressionEXTREMELY FINE. AN
EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL 1879 10-CENT AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE WITH
SECRET MARK. VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND IN THIS QUALITY, ESPECIALLY WITH
ORIGINAL GUM. With 2007 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90 Jumbo, SMQ $5,200.00
as 90, $8,500.00 as 95). This is the highest grade awarded to date, and the

oval handstamp on large part of blue cover front only to Berlin,
Germany, neat "New York Reg'y. Div. 11-16 1887" oval datestamp, New
York registry label at left, folded for displayFRESH AND FINE. A
SCARCE USAGE OF THE 90-CENT 1879 AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE. HIGHLY
SUITABLE FOR DISPLAY. Covers bearing the 90c stamps are scarce,
particularly after the U.P.U. came into effect. We have only offered two
full covers since keeping computerized records. Full covers tend to be very
large and unwieldy. This front is very desirable, as it will actually fit
