margins, some creasing incl. one ending in small tear at bottom, bright
color, tied by "TYNER 9 GEO" straightline handstamp on cover to
Knoxville Tenn., cover with some soiling and creasing, otherwise Very Fine,
only two examples of the Tyner straightline are reported by Conrad L. Bush
(Confederate Philatelist, Nov.-Dec. 1991), this is the only known
strike on a 10c Rose Lithograph, the "9 GEO" is believed by Mr. Bush to
refer to the location of Tyner Tenn. -- nine miles from Chattanooga on the
East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad line, in the direction of Georgia -- with
1962 P.F. certificate (Image) |
