52 og 64 image#64, 3c Pink, an extremely rare and choice mint example of one of the most elusive of all 19th century stamps to locate mint and in sound condition, this remarkable stamp is even more desirable as it is not only completely sound but is in premium condition as well, being incredibly fresh with intensely rich and true "pink" color (not at all oxidized which affects most singles), plus it is quite well centered within large margins, especially clean full o.g., lightly hinged, very fine; even the great collections of the past few years (Weisman, Zoellner, Golin, Lyons, Floyd, Lessin) either did not have a mint example of a Scott #64 or had one that simply does not compare in quality to the exceptional copy offered here; 1994 PF certificate. (a very early usage), extremely fine; one of the finest used examples of a Three Cent Pigeon Blood Pink extant; 1997 certificate for a cover from which this stamp was taken, and a 1998 PF certificate for the stamp alone. (virtually full), lightly hinged, single perforation tip at bottom right has been added to preserve this stamp's exceptional overall eye appeal, still very fine and among the finest original gum Scott #67's we have ever offered; 1998 PF certificate.
