(Image) 11,000.00

SOLD for $7,500.00

122 ogbl 141 image#141, 15c Orange with grill, an extraordinary mint block of four, fabulously fresh, with gorgeous vibrant color in an intense shade, quite nicely centered with its perforations clearing the design all around, full clean o.g. which shows the grill impression well on all four stamps, overall a very fine Bank Note multiple of immense rarity; to our knowledge this is the finest of only two known blocks of four, the largest size multiple available of the Fifteen Cent Grilled Bank Note, the other (ex-Braus and Klein) has numerous faults and is not quite as well centered; an important 19th century multiple perfect for exhibition; 1994 PF certificate. SOLD for $13,000.00
Closing..Sep-13, 05:00 PM
123 O 142 image#142, 24c Purple with grill, the used single offered here is unquestionably one of the finest examples in existence of this Bank Note rarity, as this gem possesses the exact opposite of what one would normally expect on this notoriously difficult stamp, beginning with the fact that it is completely devoid of the myriad of faults which affect most existing examples, its centering is virtually perfect amid extravagantly large margins, and equally impressive is this stamp's color, which is deep and rich (unlike the pale shades one typically finds), bold perfectly struck crossroads cancel, easily identifiable grill points, a superb used gem for the finest collection; while a small number of used #142's have come to the market in the past several years (primarily from an old-time hoard), none have favorably compared to the remarkable stamp offered here; 1998 PSE certificate. (Image) for fine 6,250.00

SOLD for $6,000.00
Closing..Sep-13, 05:00 PM
124 og 143 image#143, 30c Black with grill, an impressive mint example of this stamp, one of the rarest of all Bank Note stamps to find both sound and still retaining its original gum, being quite fresh and with deep rich color, far better centered and margined than typically encountered, easily identifiable grill points, full o.g., single h.r. at top, very fine; one of the few premium quality original gum examples of the Thirty Cent Grilled Bank Note in existence; a stamp that is on virtually every serious collector's want list; 1997 PSE certificate. (Image) 14,000.00

Closing..Sep-13, 05:00 PM
125 og 144 image#144, 90c Carmine with grill, an enormously rare mint example of one of the most challenging stamps in United States philately, as very few examples exist that are both sound and still retaining any part of their original gum, not to mention being certified, this particular copy is completely fault free and boasts much larger margins than typically encountered, rather well centered as well, bright rich color on fresh paper, part o.g., easily discernible grill impression, very fine; only one or two sound mint examples of Scott #144 make an appearance on the auction market in the course of a year; 1957 and 1995 PF certificates.
