Confederate States
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
2311 O 61X6 image#61X6, Nashville, Tenn. 10c Green Postmaster Provisional, two full margins, just touching the frame lines at right and bottom, strong rich color, light blue oval cancel, small internal tear and a tiny sealed tear at right, very fine appearance; accompanied by a 2004 PF certificate stating "it is a genuine stamp, but decline opinion as to the cancellation", the cancel appears to be contemporaneous, but is not the oval express company cancel that is normally found on this stamp, leaving open the possibility that this is an unrecorded cancel.
