Court House, the post office was opened in 1823 and was active until 1832,

26. Perfect strike of circular datestamp with ms. 10" rate on 1849
folded cover to New York, docketing indicates origination may have been
Spencer Academy but posted at Doakesville, light vertical file folds, Very
Fine, scarce datestamp, Doakesville was originally established as Fort
Towson, the name was changed in late 1847, after Arkansas entered statehood
this settlement was actually in the Indian Territory but continued the
usage of "Ark." in the cancel, ASCC value $475.00
