#13, 1859 6p Brown violet perforated, an extraordinarily fresh mint example of this rare and difficult stamp, possessing incredibly deep fresh color in a rich
brown violet shade, crisp detailed impression, full even perforations which are frequently lacking on most copies and actually quite well centered for this value despite the perforations being slightly in at bottom, virtually full original gum that
is seldom found as fresh as this, minor h.r., very fine; not only are the first perforated stamps of Canada rare but invariably the perforations encroach on at least one side of the design, which is the way they are valued in the catalogs; the
example offered here is far above the norm in its freshness and attractiveness; signed H. Bloch and accompanied by a 1978 RPS certificate (with left sheet margin subsequently removed) (Unitrade C$60,000.00).
