Department in 1860), this extraordinary document, which originally bore a pair of the imperforate stamp (the right stamp having been torn away), was first noted in the famous Warren Colson stock, the stamp itself is very fine, while the P.O. form has some faults, primarily some splitting along the folds; we are aware of only three recorded examples of this extremely rare variety, the example offered here on the presentation sheet, an original gum single (with small faults) and a third that is "cancelled" by a grid, an essential item for an exhibit or for the specialist in the philately of New Brunswick; 1998 V.G. As such it is not only an incredible rarity, but is also considered one of the most important items in British North America philately. This pair was not discovered until 1933 when it was reported to have been found laying on the floor in a book-filled house of the husband of one of Charles Connell's daughters.Accompanied by a 1981 V.G. In addition, many seasoned philatelists rank this cover among the greatest classic covers in all of philately. It combines both beauty and rarity in a way that can be fully appreciated by all collectors at any level.
