Turner Composite Plate A |
Turner Composite Plate A, 1c-$50.00 Second & Third Issue and 1c-10c Proprietary, green and black on India paper, an extraordinary full sample sheet of 36
different subjects carefully arranged on a large sheet of India paper (196x233mm), similar to the composite sheet illustrated in Turner on page 82, but each subject with a small circle punch, and without the extraneous pen lines, remarkably bright
and fresh, trivial corner bend at bottom left, very fine; the item illustrated in Turner was thought to be the only intact composite sheet, this particular example is unique with the circle punches and is in far superior condition to the other
sheet (which has faults and extraneous pen marks between the stamps); an eye-arresting showpiece that would be perfect for exhibition. (Image) |
