This sale contains two very important collections. The first is offered as one lot and is the "New Amsterdam" Collection of New York City Despatch Post, 1842-52 Issues. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest collections of its kind intact, and is the basis for additional study.

The second collection is the "Georgian" Collection of 1845 New York Postmaster's Provisionals and includes proofs, the different initials and papers, covers paying different rates and also uses to foreign destinations.
